My plants are growing on a mountainside, not far from Snowdonia in the northwest of Wales. UK.

As part of having a National plant Collection where possible we let interested people have access to see the plants for themselves. However this has to be at the convenience of the Collection Holder. Conservation of the plants takes priority. Many Collections are grown in private home gardens or even allotments and being ordinary folk we cannot necessarilly arrange visits as easily as the Collections in Botanical Gardens, National Trust properties or other gardens sometimes open to the public.

Email me if you want to see my Origanum Collection (or any of my other Collections) and we can discuss the possibility of a visit. Disabled access is very limited and will depend on your mobility limitations, and the weather. At 1,100 feet on an exposed mountainside there can be bad weather at any time of the year, so preparations for strong wind and driving rain must be considered even in summer. There is no shelter available. Cancellation of a visit is therefore possible at short notice, so I will need a telephone number. The Collections are not part of a garden or a wider range of plants. They are grown in containers standing on woven grown cover material on top of very thin soil, with no hard paths between. There is not enough room for group visits. The whole area is open to the weather and very exposed. On the other hand an a fine sunny day the view is magnificent with 15 peaks visible including some in Snowdonia National Park (Eryri).

Other Collections on site, also grown in containers : NPC of Allium schoenoprasum (chives), NPC of Helianthus strumosus & tuberosus cvs. (pale-leaf woodland sunflower & Jerusalem artichokes), NPC of Mentha (mints), small collections of Hesperantha coccinea cvs., Allium nutans cvs. and some perennial vegetables.
